Love of the Bloom
Canadian Academy of Floral Art presented
"For the Love of the Bloom"
Gala evening at the Embassy of France in Ottawa, on Saturday, October 17, 2009.
The black-tie dinner offered 330 attendees the very finest in haute floral couture
in a breathtaking setting of flowers, fashion, food, fragrance and music.
The catwalk was filled with models wearing floral dresses.
Canadian Academy of Floral Art presented 25 floral gowns.
Garments were represented at three categories: Calendar by twelve months;
Provinces of Canada and "Rose the One" (Dolce & Gabbana).
Designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and models came together to create stunning runway
pieces that left the audience in awe.
Here are just a few parts of gowns that I had a chance to photo shoot.
It was the induction night for new CAFA members and the event included a runway show
that combined floral and haute couture, music, food and fragrance.
It was pleasure to be a part of it and have this unforgettable induction ceremony
surrounded by beautiful creations.
New members of the Canadian Academy of Floral Art had an assignment to create "Think Pink" dresses.
We received pink ribbons and material and were given an opportunity to create a dress.
After we arrived in Ottawa, we had 24 hours with fun, tears and creating outfits
that were finalized by adding fresh flowers to them.
The profits of this evening, a stunning $65.000, went to Breast Cancer Research.
